Dear Delta Tennis Players and Fans,

We are now focused on our traditional style 2026 Delta Tennis Tournament. Our planned dates are: Apr 21-Apr 24 (Tue -Fri) Play is slated for the clay courts at Florida Tennis Center located in Daytona Beach, Florida.  During the last few tourneys, we offered play in modified compass draws.  In addition, a daily round robin format (45 min sessions and then re-matching players after each period) was available to those who might not be ready or comfortable for full tournament play.  The social aspects of this format were noteworthy, and we intend to offer Round Robin play as a daily play option for those who would prefer this style of play. Total entries and court availability will drive us to optimize am or pm play in the various categories of play. Standard categories of play will include Men's and Ladies Singles and Doubles (Open, A, B, C levels) and Mixed Doubles. We start receiving applications:    01 Feb '26 

Our preferred Hotels remain the Fairfield Inn and Suites AND The Daytona Marriot both conveniently located across from the famed Daytona International Speedway.   You can expect to pay $159/night at the Fairfield Inn, Breakfast included, free parking.  The Daytona will cost you $189/night plus destination fee of $28 of which $15/day can go toward restaurant or lounge.   The Hotel Res-link is Active. We will schedule nightly social gatherings which culminate with the dinner and awards ceremony Friday night Apr 24, 2026

Your entry fee covers the opening night dinner, balls + court costs, and the Friday night awards dinner.    This  year  we again need  to  add  a  guest  fee  charge  for  the  Monday  Night  Welcome  party  if  you  bring  a  non-playing  guest  to  the  party.    Charge  will  be  $30  per  non-playing  guest.    You  can  pay as directed when visiting the "Shop" page on  this  website  with  the  rest  of  the  tourney  fees.

TOURNAMENT HISTORY

Our tennis tournament originated with the NWA family back in 1975, and has been held for more than forty years in Florida.  

The original DAL tourney faded out after 2005.  After the merger between DAL and NWA, the NWA group invited our new colleagues to join us in this tennis fest.  As a result, we have grown back to a healthier number of players with 60-80 participants.  All current or former DAL/NWA employees, Delta Connection/Alliance Partner Airline employees, and DGS employees are welcome and pre-qualified to enter the tournament.  In addition, their family members, life partners (i.e.  civil union, registered domestic partner, airline registered travel companions), and significant others are also automatically invited.  

The DAL Tennis Tournament is a select field "invitational" for any others recommended. Our concept is that the tournament may be able to accommodate our employee players who desire to invite and play in a category of doubles with an important friend or relative. The previous year's invited players are considered re-invited after receiving clearance by the Tournament Directors. The Tournament Directors are responsible for invitations concerning players who are not automatically qualified.   Considerations are based on previous DAL Tennis Tournament play,  qualified player requests, tournament needs and limitations.  Players  seeking an invitation for an outside player should submit a brief  written explanation to the Tournament Directors for review and decision.

Non-playing spouses, friends, or relatives are also welcome to accompany the employee player and cheer us on.
